Lots of students work off campus,
continuing jobs they’ve had before or finding new ones. If you work
at a chain restaurant or store, you might even be able to transfer
to a location near your college. Working off campus may pay
more than on-campus jobs, but it also may involve a less flexible
schedule, commuting time, and longer hours. As with working
on campus, you’ll benefit from meeting new people, learning
to get along and work together, and experimenting with various
types of work. Just be sure any off-campus jobs you take leave
you with the time and energy you need for your most important
job—getting an
education.
