Working on campus

A campus job can be a great way to meet faculty, staff, and students. The library, bookstore, gym, computer lab, admissions office, cafeteria, and other places usually have positions for students. Depending on your job, you may be involved in scheduling, organizing, or attending events on campus as well. Every job can provide an opportunity for growth—even working in the cafeteria can showcase your reliability, leadership skills, and attention to detail. You never know how the people you work with, or the job that you do, may be helpful to you or a friend some day while in college or even later in life. To find a job on campus, start early, keeping your eyes open and asking around at orientation.

Tip: Federal College Work-Study is a need-based financial aid award available to U.S. citizens. The Financial Aid Office is responsible for determining eligibility of applicants and will help you find an on-campus job.
