The quotes at right all illustrate the importance of working in college—beyond the obvious need for cash.
Working in college lets you try on various jobs to see what you like and what you’re good at. You’ll quickly discover whether you prefer to work with people or behind the scenes; whether you prefer a desk job or like to be out and about. Working also helps you hone your time-management skills and develop a work ethic. Research has shown that students who work part time while in college have higher GPAs than students who don’t work.
