Playing sports

As you no doubt know, playing a sport is a great way to relax and relieve stress while hanging out with friends. Plus, playing a sport helps ward off the freshmen 15 weight gain (see page 35). You’re much more likely to stay active if you’re doing something you enjoy, and with people you like. Even if you’re not coordinated or into team sports, you can look into a running or hiking club or other fitness activity.

Participating in any level of sports activities is also great way to get involved with your campus community. Whether you are a division level competitor, intramural athlete, or an avid fan, your contribution to the collective team spirit of the campus community is vital.
