Keeping quiet

Put hundreds of young adults in one place, out on their own for the first time, and quiet is not something that comes to mind. But when it comes to studying, quiet is a necessity for many students. That’s why residence halls often have “courtesy hours” and “quiet hours.” Your RA will explain the hours to you when you move in, and likely post them around the dorm. In addition, the RA will explain the penalties, such as fines for excessive noise.
