Benefits to residence hall living

While few dorms are luxurious, peaceful environments, there are few places that are more fun or better for academic growth. You meet new people, make friends, form study groups, and get involved in campus activities, all through the building you live in.
You get to experience living away from home and having some independence—while remaining in a secure environment. When tough roommate situations arise, you learn to negotiate and compromise. Plus, you’re close to campus and you regularly interact with other students. As a result, research shows that, on average, students living in residence halls earn higher grade point averages than those who don’t.
