Using utilitarian based ethics in decision making

Here’s how you can use this framework to help you decide what actions to take when faced with an ethical dilemma.

How did this exercise work for you? Did you arrive at a decision similar to the one you actually made in that situation or one that was different? Which decision are you most comfortable with?

In the following sections, you’ll learn about two more ethical frameworks and have a chance to apply them. It can be interesting to use the same ethical dilemma you used here to find out if you arrive at the same decision in all three frameworks. More importantly, you can find out if one framework fits most closely with your view of who you are and how you want to act in the world.
